I decided to develop my work through making different sets of cinemagraphs. This has allowed me to improve both my ability at making cinemagraphs and on my compositional work. The most difficult part of creating a cinema graph for me is creating a continuous loop without it jolting back to the beginning of the clip.
Drawing these compsotional ideas allowed me to have an idea of how my cinemagraphs were going to look and how to set them up. They also allowed me to have more choice when it came to editing as I had multiple good video clips to choose from.
I think this is my most effective cinemagraph so far as the movement is continuous and stands out against the stillness of the second candle. The composure is also effective as draws the viewers attention to the whole of the cupcake and then the movement of the flame further brings the viewer's attention into the cinemagraph.
This cinemagraph shows the subtle movement of a plant in the foreground, contrasting with the stillness of the road, tree and clouds in the background. The dark lighting creates a dramatic atmosphere within the cinemagraph and this also emphasises the texture of the clouds in the background.
This cinemagraph is successful because it shows the movement of the water in the glass, the light reflects off the bubbles created by the water therefore emphasising the movement. The composition is effective as there is a good balance of negative space and subject matter therefore making the cinemagraph pleasing to the viewer's eye.
In this cinemagraph, I wanted to show the element of soil in a different way so I chose to put the soil on the face but have the eyes as the moving part of the cinemagraph. The movement of the eyes is effective due to the composition, the viewer's eye is immediately drawn into it and then looks at the rest of the details within the cinemagraph. The lighting within the cinemagraph is also effective as the sunlight passing through the hair creates interesting patterns on the face .......
