One of my photographers, Melissa Fague, uses vibrant colours throughout her work therefore I chose to take stylistic influence from her for this set of my cinemagraphs. I sketched out ideas for my cinemagraphs to give me an idea of compositions.
This cinemagraph is effective as the droplets of ink are a continuous movement meaning that the element is easily shown within the composition. The stillness of the ink in the water adds to the effect of the cinemagraph as it adds context to the composition and draws the viewer into the work as the vibrance of the ink stands out against the white background.
The use of a balloon within this cinemagraph works effectively as the movement is natural. The colour of the balloon automatically draws the viewers attention into the cinemagraph due to the bright vibrancy of the pink.
The movement of the leaf within this composition is subtle but creates a sense of anticipation within the work and therefore grabs the audience's attention. The cinemagraph would have been more effective if the leaves were of a brighter colour, for example if the shoot was during autumn meaning the leaves had just fallen from the tree.
This cinemagraph was ineffective due to the conditions of the shoot, there were high winds causing the flames to change direction quickly therefore making the cinemagraph appear jolty. However the colour of the flame stands out against the dark background therefore being inline with Fague's use of colour within her work.
